The Men in Blue continued their impeccable winning streak from their last month’s tour of Sri Lanka in the ongoing series against the Aussies. After scripting history against the islander, winning the bilateral series 9-0 across all formats of the game, the Indian contingent did an encore of their performance. The Virat Kohli-led side registered three straight victories against the Aussies to clinch the 5-match series.

After the 3rd match fixture at Indore, Australia’s vice-captain David Warner took to his Instagram handle to post a video of the enormous crowd cheering outside their hotel. India has always been grand at receptions, and the fans know just how to welcome their stars. Warner along with the Australian squad is next headed to Bangalore for their next fixture.

India secures a comfortable victory

India went into yesterday’s game looking the better team, courtesy their unbeaten streak. And the Men in Blue did not fail to take on the challenge as they beat Australia by five wickets to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series. And an integral cog of that win was the bowling department.

The tight and lethal bowling spells in the death overs proved clinical in India’s win. The Men in Blue were chasing the game for the first 38 overs. But the bowlers pulled the strings back, conceding just 69 runs off the last 12 overs to tip the scales in favor of the hosts.

Chasing 294, India rode on a fluent opening stand between Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane and then sealed the deal with Hardik Pandya’s quick-fire 78. With the win, India becomes the numero uno team in ICC’s ODI rankings. India replaced South Africa at the top of ODI ranking table by taking their tally to 120 points, one more than the Proteas.

All the action now shifts to Bangalore where Australia would eye pride while India would look to extend their domination.
