Rashid Khan, thanks to his exceptional leg-spin bowling, has become the poster boy only in a few years after his entry in international cricket. He has also become the idol for many in Afghanistan as a lot of talented leg-spinners are coming through the ranks from the country. Meanwhile, Rashid has also found his admirers in India as recently one of the youngsters was spotted bowling exactly like him.
India pacer Deepak Chahar shared a video from his cricket academy in Aligarh in which a bowler was bowling leg-spinners to the batsmen. He termed him as ‘India’s very own’ Rashid Khan as the action was similar to the Afghan cricketer and also went on to indirectly term him as the best in the business.

Rashid shining in BBL
In the meantime, Rashid Khan is currently plying his trade in the ongoing season of the Big Bash League (BBL) for the Adelaide Strikers. Like he did last year, the 20-year-old has continued to trouble the batsmen with his variations and won the Man of the Match award in the team’s season opener as well. He has so picked five wickets only in a couple of matches and looks set to play a huge role in Strikers’ title-defence this year.
As far as Chahar is concerned, the youngster made his international debut in a T20I against England this year. He played the deciding game of the series and despite going for runs, picked up crucial wickets. He later also earned his One-Day International cap during the Asia Cup against Afghanistan when India decided to try out their whole bench having qualified for the final.
Currently, the cricketer is playing in the Ranji Trophy and will be keen to keeping up the good work to stay in selectors’ radar in the near future.
