Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja posted a tweet which looked like an outburst on being left out of the Indian squad for the limited overs series against Australia, starting September 17. The squad for the home series against Steve Smith’s men was announced on Saturday, and both Jadeja and his bowling partner Ravichandran Ashwin’s names were missing out from the list.

The selectors have replaced Shardul Thakur with pacer Mohammed Shami in the 16-member squad. Veteran Yuvraj Singh and middle-order batsman Suresh Raina were once again overlooked, after being snubbed for the tour of Sri Lanka last month.

It seems that the all-rounder posted the tweet out of frustration and later deleted it. But Twitterati always keeps a note of everything that happens in the micro blogging site. Jadeja posted a picture with his horse and the caption read “Make your comebacks stronger than your setbacks #rajputboy,”.

Rested or dropped?

The Chairman of selectors MSK Prasad had earlier clarified the snub, by saying that it is a part of the rotational policy, and therefore the duo- Jadeja and Ashwin has been rested for the series against Australia.

“The team for the three ODIs against Australia has been selected in line with the rotation policy of the Board and accordingly R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested. The team’s performance during the Sri Lanka tour was outstanding and players like Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal, who performed very well are being given an extended run and this will, in turn, supplement our approach, to build a strong reserve strength, as we prepare for forthcoming tours,”Chairman of selectors MSK Prasad said.

India squad:

Virat Kohli (capt), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami.
