Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi’s 25-year-old batsman Nitish Rana tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Saachi Marwah on Monday. KKR captain Dinesh Karthik, CEO Venky Mysore, coach Abhishek Nayar, and many other cricketers attended the wedding ceremony.
Saachi is the co-founder of a designer studio and an interior designer by profession. The two got engaged in June last year and ever since, there had been talks about them getting married in early 2019. Reportedly, Saachi is a year or two older than Nitish. Delhi teammate Unmukt Chand posted a picture from the cocktail party with the caption – “Love to see the boys getting married. One more down.”
Impressive domestic career
Nitish took over the captaincy of Delhi after Gautam Gambhir decided to step down last year. He had a stellar run with the Kolkata Knight Riders last year and at one point was the holder of the orange cap as well. He scored 304 runs from 15 games at a good strike-rate. KKR made it to the playoffs but eventually lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad, who made it to the finals.
In his First-class career for Delhi so far, the all-rounder averages over 40 in the 30 games he has played scoring 1765 runs including four centuries. He made his List A and T20 debuts for Delhi in the 2012-13 season but played Ranji Trophy for the first time in the 2015-16 season. He had an impressive debut in the longest format as he ran out Wasim Jaffer for a duck and also made a half-century against Vidarbha and finished the season as Delhi’s highest run-getter, with 557 runs at 50.63, including a century and three fifties.
