The day one of the premier 50 over tournament Deodhar Trophy, involving India A, Karnataka, and India B has begun with a superlative encounter between India A and India B. As populous witnessed another crackerjack of an encounter which involved too much firepower, but in the end, one will have to say, India B Team had too much firepower and managed to upstage the opposition comprehensively. Both Dharmendrasinh Jadeja and G H Vihari have been the star for India B.

On a docile track, the toss fell in India B’s favour and they asked the opposition to bat first. The opposition was expected to post a gigantic total on the board to put pressure on their batters who have been in rampant form right from the start of the calendar year. However, India A didn’t get off to a great start, losing their opener Ishan Kishan and number three batsman Shubhman Gill early in the innings. Having lost two wickets for just 21 runs on the board India A Team needed some stability.

Banking on the quick-fire fifty from the middle order batsman Ricky Bhui helped them to put up a respectable total of 178 runs total on the board in a rain-curtailed game. The India B bowlers were absolutely phenomenal with Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, Jayant Yadav, and Umesh Yadav picked eight wickets between them.

In reply, India B’s openers found it difficult to put the right foot forward at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, as the wicket eventually became a two pace track, with many deliveries keeping low. After losing the wicket-keeper batsman Srikar Bharat early in the innings, Abhimanyu and Vihari played with the full fortitude and managed to put up a partnership of 98 runs. With this, India B Team came in a comfortable position and eventually skipper Shreyas Iyer along with Vihari wrapped up the innings with a comprehensive victory.
