Despite Ashes commitment, Kevin Pietersen didn't miss Virat's batting

Virat Kohli is a household name in India and is a celebrated figure across the nation. While praises and compliments have become a mainstream thing for India skipper, and there is no denying the fact that he truly deserves them. Known for his extended knack of shattering or creating records now and then, Virat recently reached his 50th ton and aims to go a long way before he hangs up his boots.

Apart from the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka series, the Ashes kicked off recently wherein England and Australia are locked in a gruelling contest to claim the urn. Former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen who is a part of the Ashes commentary team, however, did not fail to watch the Indian skipper play despite his work commitments.

Kohli’s batting being is a class above the rest and it is not at all surprising that the former England skipper didn’t want miss the action when the Indian run-machine comes to the crease. Pietersen also put out a tweet mentioning the same.

India is currently playing Sri Lanka in the 2nd Test at Nagpur after the first game at Kolkata ended in a draw. The game at Eden Gardens was a classic example of how tough conditions and pressure did not deter the dynamic right-hander from producing a master-class

India was in a precarious position on the last day of the game after a batting collapse but Kohli, who had failed to open his account in the first innings, proved his class by not holding firm one end but also scored at a good pace. He eventually scored 104 not out off just 119 balls to not only bail the team out of trouble but even gave it a real chance of winning the game.
