The ongoing brouhaha surrounding over the Delhi Test between India and Sri Lanka took a surprising turn recently. A third party, out of nowhere, found a perfect way to business their product in this situation. Dettol SiTi Shield responded to the Sri Lankan Cricket citing that the masks that they have been using during the match are totally ineffective.

The origin of the entire episode dates back to the second day of the Test. The Sri Lankan players complained of having respiratory problems whilst fielding on the day. After the lunch break, the players of the team were seen wearing masks as they took the field. Several players even threw up on the field and the Sri Lankan skipper Dinesh Chandimal kept pestering the umpires to stop the game citing health issues.

The game went on and the visitors had very little option. However, they caused a lot of breaks in the game. Infuriated with the interruptions, Indian skipper Virat Kohli was forced into making a premature declaraion. It was surprising to see that the Sri Lankan team did not wear the masks when they came on to bat.

Now, Dettol SiTi Shield responded to one of the tweets of the SLC saying that the surgical masks they wore during the game is highly ineffective. Hence, they should be using their product to prevent any health problem.

Here are the tweets:

“Hi, Your players are using a surgical mask which’s ineffective against the PM 2.5 particle pollution. If you’re serious, we’ll send you 11 Dettol Sitishield N95 masks (98% protection against PM2.5) so that there’s no reason to stop the game, and delay India’s series win ;),” tweeted Dettol SiTi Shield in their first tweet response.

“Hey Team Sri Lanka, As promised, 11 Dettol SiTi Shield N95 masks are on their way to you. Breathe safe, on and off the field! Best wishes, Dettol SiTi Shield,” they wrote in their second tweet.
