Dinesh Karthik reveals how Rohit Sharma almost missed his flight to England

Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik are presently representing India in the limited-over series versus England. The Men in Blue won their two T20Is versus Ireland and then went on to beat the Brits in the first T20I at the Old Trafford in Manchester. Both didn’t have overwhelming starts to their tours. However, their departure to the United Kingdom (UK) was an eventful one.

Recently, in a chat show, named ‘Breakfast With Champions’, hosted by Gaurav Kapur, Karthik revealed how Rohit Sharma almost missed his flight on his way to the European country. Even Rohit was present during the talk show.

“Everyone forgets their passport”- Rohit

“We all assembled in Delhi and were supposed to leave for UK. Our man (Rohit) came chilled, having forgotten his passport back in Mumbai. It got delivered to him just in time, else he would’ve been left behind,” Karthik mentioned.

Meanwhile, the Indian wicket-keeper batsman also admitted that such goof-ups haven’t eluded him either. He also talked about his unmindful nature, mostly when he uses his phone.

“That’s one of the things I want to change about myself. Supposed you’re talking to me, I’ll just get lost and that sometimes comes across as rude. A lot of times I switch on my phone to do something, but by the time it opens I forget what I wanted to do,” he added.

Defending himself against the hilarious remarks, Rohit funnily mentioned that his teammates keep forming unnecessary stories about him to pull his leg. “Everyone forgets their passport but these guys just make stories about me,” Rohit remarked.

Karthik, in the interaction, also hailed his camaraderie with Rohit and told that he loves spending time with the Indian opener. India will next play England in the second T20 today at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
