Former Indian captain MS Dhoni is celebrating his 39th birthday today on July 7. A plethora of cricketers extended their wishes to Mahi on his special day and reminisced on-field memories with him. The Ranchi stalwart has always received unconditional love and support from his fans from all over the world.

Mumbai Police also had a special wish for ‘Captain Cool’ on his birthday. Using the initials of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Twitter handle of Mumbai Police used it as a symbol to denote ‘maintain social distancing’.

Wishing Mahi a very happy birthday, Police urged the citizens to follow all the social distancing rules and stay fit and cool just like the former Indian captain. Mumbai Police tweeted, “With this message, the handle captioned the post as: “Do it the `Mahi Way` – Stay `Not Out`, Stay Cool & Stump #coronavirus. Happy Birthday, Captain Cool”.

This was one of the most unique wishes Mahi had received on his birthday till now. The police authorities tried to spread awareness regarding the safety norms to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the country.

The coronavirus cases in India crossed the 7 lakh mark today, making it the third most affected nation worldwide. As a result, it is the need of the hour to be safe while practicing self-isolation and social distancing.

MS Dhoni last donned the Indian jersey in 2019

Dhoni is known as one of the fearless and passionate cricketers. However, the Ranchi-based wicket-keeper has been away from the match field for a year now. The last time he played for India was during the semi-final match of World Cup 2019 against New Zealand in Manchester. After that, the wicketkeeper-batsman had made himself unavailable for the selection to the Indian team.

Dhoni was expected to make a comeback as the Chennai Super Kings skipper in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the league has been suspended indefinitely in the light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which means that the fans would have to wait for some more time before they can see their favourite star play again.
