India Red clinched the Duleep Trophy final thanks to some vital contributions from the 17-year-olds, Washington Sundar and Prithvi Shaw against India Blue. On a turning track, Prithvi struck a magnificent 154 in the first innings to help his team fetch a big lead. Sundar’s all-round performance comprised 88 and 42 with the bat and 5/94 and 6/87 with the ball which powered India Red to a huge 163-run win.

0 – Number of players before Washington who have scored 100+ runs and taken 10+ wickets in a first-class match before turning 18. Sundar scored 130 runs and picked 11 wickets in the game. He is also the youngest to score a half century and pick a 5-wicket haul in a DT game.
1 – The Tamil Nadu youngster became the first player to do the double of 100+ runs and 10+ wickets in a Duleep Trophy final. He is also the first player with a score of fifty-plus and 10+ wickets on DT debut.
5 – Ashok Dinda’s duck in the first innings was his fifth in a row in Duleep Trophy. He became the 2nd player after Salil Ankola to bag five ducks in consecutive innings in the Duleep Trophy. Overall, Dinda now has seven ducks in Duleep Trophy, the joint 2nd most for any player.

He became the 5th player with a 5-wicket hauls in both innings of a Duleep Trophy final after EAS Prasanna, S Madan Lal, VRV Singh and Ravindra Jadeja.
