India Under-19 clinched the Youth ODI series against England taking a 3-0 lead in the 5-match series by virtue of a huge 169-run win at the Hove. India, who elected to bat first, posted a huge total of 327/7. India U19s’ No.3 batsman, Shubman Gill struck a 127-ball 147 to push his side to a huge total. Gill hit 19 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. Though no other player scored a fifty in the Indian innings, the 20s and 30s laid the foundation for building a huge score supported by Shubman’s big innings.

Pacer Kamlesh Nagarkoti picked up three wickets upfront to reduce the hosts to 31/3. The right-arm pacer sent the openers back for ducks after which the England U19s failed to get going in the chase. Tom Banton scored 59 off 63 balls without which his side’s total could not be even 158. The both teams will now face off in the last two Youth ODIs at the Bristol and Taunton respectively.
