The former Indian captain is probably one of the most successful Indian openers in England. ‘Dada’, as he is fondly called has applied himself beautifully in the swinging English conditions where it is tough to face the new ball. The iconic scene of Ganguly removing his shirt and swirling it around in the Lords balcony after winning the Natwest series will remain etched in the hearts of every Indian fan for a very long time. Undoubtedly, he was one of India’s most successful Test captains.

The ‘God of the off-side’ played 16 ODIs in England. He scored 565 runs at an average of 35 and strike rate of about 75. However, he failed to get a century in the nation and his highest score was 90. Ganguly ended his career as the third highest scorer in England and will open in this XI.
