Test cricket has been at its best in the ongoing second match between England and India at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. The game is perfectly hanging in balance after the conclusion of Day 4 and it would be interesting to see how the final pans out. Meanwhile, Team India will resume the proceedings at 181/6, having a lead of 154 runs.

Considering the current scoreline, one can say that the Three Lions hold a slight edge. However, the Lord’s track has been deteriorating constantly and England have to bat last on this surface. Hence, chasing any sort of target won’t be easy for the hosts and Virat Kohli’s men would be aware of the fact. Rishabh Pant will certainly have a job in hand on the final day as he’s the last of the recognized Indian batters in the middle.

Bad light ended play on Day 4 early

The southpaw would aim to score as many runs as possible before Team India loses its remaining four wickets. Notably, Pant’s challenge was eased a bit on Day 4 all thanks to the bad light. It was the last session of the day’s play and England were on a roll, having taken three quick wickets. With the visitors losing six wickets, Pant was joined by Ishant Sharma in the middle.

While the hosts looked determined to bundle India out before stumps, bad light dented their plans. With clouds covering the London sky, Indian players complained about the visibility issue. Subsequently, the umpires called an early halt to the day’s proceedings and some part of the session was lost. England skipper Joe Root was evidently upset with the decision as he looked disgruntled while walking off the field.

Notably, the veteran cricketer had a conversation with Pant on his way back and the duo seemed debating over something. From the looks of it, the topic of discussion appeared to be bad light. After all, the English skipper was operating spins from both ends due to the visibility factor. Pant also kept his point in front of the English skipper and this gave rise to a meme fest on Twitter. Fans have been constantly sharing snaps of their animated conversation with all sorts of captions.

Here’s how Twitterati reacted to Rishabh Pant and Joe Root’s viral picture!!
