England players confirm participation in the 2021 IPL edition

Meanwhile, the chief executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Tom Harrison confirmed that the England players will take part in the second half of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) that will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the months of September and October this year.

Adding that the England players will manage their own schedules, Harrison said that it is going to be a busy season for the England players. Harrison concluded by stating that the decision regarding players’ availability will be made on a case-by-case basis.

“With respect to the IPL, we are going to have discussions with all our players. The postponement of the Bangladesh tour provides an opportunity for the players to present themselves for the IPL.

Players are going to have to manage their schedules because we have a busy winter and that comes on the end of a busy summer. Those discussions are underway. But obviously, on a case-by-case basis, those decisions will be made with the players,” stated Tom Harrison during a media discussion.
