Jofra Archer burst on to the scene and turned up with some jaw-dropping performances for England across formats. The Barbados-born also bowled the famous Super Over in the Final of the 2019 World Cup against New Zealand at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. In the very next month, the speedster made his Test debut at the very venue after veteran James Anderson was ruled out.

In the Ashes, he was arguably the Brits’ standout bowler, picking up wickets. The fast bowler also smacked the likes of Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne on the helmets. However, life hasn’t been kind on him ever since. Archer was picked to play in the four-match Test series against South Africa. But in the very first contest at the SuperSport Park in Centurion, he got injured.

Archer ruled out of IPL

He developed an elbow injury and didn’t play the remaining three matches in the series that England won 3-1. Jofra has now been ruled out of the Three Lions’ upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, starting March 7. Scans have confirmed that he has a low-grade stress fracture on the right elbow. The pacer will now be undergoing rehab with the ECB medical team with a view to recover at the earliest.

Archer has also been ruled out of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the T20 tournament, he plies his trade for the Rajasthan Royals. He was recruited back in 2018 and he has made some telling impact. On the backs of his stupendous spells of bowling, Archer was retained. With him not in the mix anymore, the Royals have to search for an apt replacement.

Tom Curran, who’s also a part of the Royals setup in the IPL, wished Archer a speedy recovery. The England seamer also reckons that Archer’s injury could open the doors on him in the T20 league. In the meantime, Archer is in no mood to die wondering after the unfortunate occurring.

The Brits’ bowler is ready to grind himself and get back in shape. He uploaded a picture where he can be seen, showing off the red ball. He captioned it and wrote, “Be back soon.”
