Rohit and Kuldeep never allowed England to make a comeback in the game.

Team India, much like they did in the T20Is, thumped England in the first One-Day International by 8 wickets at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The resounding victory was scripted by the chinaman Kuldeep Yadav who just ran through the batting line-up of the hosts and ended up picking 6 wickets while conceding only 25 runs. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli then were absolutely class apart in the chase as India gunned down the chase of 269 runs with utter ease.
After opting to bowl first, the new ball bowlers of the visitors, Umesh Yadav and Siddarth Kaul, bowled tight lines to keep the openers quite. But they teed off after getting their eyes in as England looked set to post a big score at 71/0 after 10 overs. But the introduction of Kuldeep into the attack changed things dramatically. He scalped Jason Roy off the second delivery of his spell and then went on to bamboozle Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow with two different kinds of deliveries.
The wrong’un bowled to the latter was absolutely special. Moreover, the way he convinced his skipper to take the review was interesting and it turned out to be a straightforward decision then. The wickets left the home side stunned as they never came out of the rebuilding mode. The partnership between Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler provided some semblance to their innings but the run-rate never troubled the Indians. England were eventually bowled out for 268 in the final over and the score was under-par by a long way.
Easy chase
The total of 269 runs was never going to trouble the Men in Blue on a flat track. Shikhar Dhawan had fun in the powerplay to get his team off to a sparkling start after which Rohit also joined in. Moeen Ali scalped the former in the 8th over but it didn’t make any difference to their run-scoring. Virat Kohli came out and opened his account with a beautiful cover drive.
Both added 167 runs for the second wicket and were never troubled by the opposition bowling which looked toothless compared to their counterparts. Boundaries galore with Rohit in full-flow at the Trent Bridge as the duo took India ever so close to the victory. Rohit also brought up his second consecutive century on the tour as Kohli also looked set to bring up yet another ton.
But he fell to Adil Rashid on 75 to bring another in-form batsman KL Rahul to the middle. Eventually, the visitors completed a clinical chase in the 41st over with 8 wickets in hand and thrashing England in front of their home crowd.
Twitterati was busy preparing memes throughout the game and no wonder Kuldeep was leading here as well. Rohit Sharma also had his fair share, in the end, courtesy his superlative knock.
