Haris Sohail, the middle order batter of Pakistan will undergo an MRI scan on Tuesday. Earlier this week, he missed the intra-squad practice games of the team as well owing to the same injury. However, Sohail has already started the rehabilitation process ahead of the upcoming ODI series against England.

The batter currently is dealing with slight pain in his right leg and thus his availability for their first ODI game against England is doubtful. The call on his inclusion will be taken only after the reports of the scan are out. In a statement released on Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that Harris wouldn’t be a part of the next two practice sessions which will be held on July 5 and July 6.

“Middle-order batsman Haris Sohail is still feeling slight pain in his right leg and, as such, he will not take part in next two practice sessions scheduled on 5 and 6 July in Derby” the statement read as reported by NDTV news.

Haris Sohail back in the squad with a good record in the UK

The vice-captain of Pakistan Shadab Khan opened up about the strengths of the squad and the game changers they possess. He asserted that with Babar Azam, the middle order of the side is strong, and Mohammad Rizwan coming from a PSL victory further adds to the team’s positives.

Stating the good numbers of Haris Sohail in the UK, Shadab pointed the team’s chances to triumph over the hosts. “Our middle-order is strong with Babar Azam – who needs no introduction – Mohammad Rizwan who is fresh from winning the PSL 6. Haris Sohail is back in the side having scored over 50 runs per innings in the UK.

England and Pakistan will draw swords against each other for three ODIs and as many T20Is. The first ODI is set to be played on July 8. England has winning momentum to their side, having dominated Sri Lanka in the recent series.

Pakistan, on the other hand, started their seven-day preparation for the tour last week at the Incora Derby Cricket Ground after having spent their first three days in room isolation. The three-match ODI series is part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League and the teams will lock horns for the first game at Cardiff.
