MS Dhoni’s career has been an illustrious one and he has been an inspiration for many cricketers. The cricketer has scaled great heights as his career has progressed and subsequently, has garnered praises from every nook and corner of the world. He is the only captain with all the ICC Trophies and hasn’t backtracked ever since he made his debut back in 2004 versus Bangladesh.

He turned 37 years old yesterday and even at this age, he is considered to be a brute force to reckon with in limited-overs cricket. The wicketkeeper-batsman has also been touted to play a pivotal role in next year’s World Cup in England and Wales. On his birthday, he was hailed for the contribution he has made to Indian cricket. His teammates also tried their hearts out to make it a special day for the legend.

Meanwhile, Sam Billings, the English batsman, praised MSD for being a role model. The Brits cricketer played under Dhoni in this year’s IPL. The Kent-born cricketer also put forth Dhoni’s tactics when he plans to take the attack to the opposition and mentioned playing with him and sharing the dressing room as a privilege.

“It was amazing to witness”- Billings on Dhoni

“It was incredible batting with him in the first game, and to get us across the line as well, What struck me most was his calmness. He’s just so calm the whole time. I asked him about it, and he said that through experience and being able to train, he’s got better and better at it towards the latter part of his career.

“It was amazing to witness – he selects the bowlers that he looks to take down, then executes it as well. It’s pretty special being at the other end and in the same dressing room as someone like that,” Billings was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.

“It was about being conscious of body language, not giving too much away to the batsman but the bowler as well, to be honest, People don’t mean to bowl bad balls, but the way Dhoni deals with it and relaxes, ultimately it makes them feel a hell of a lot more comfortable,” he added.
