Hitting six sixes in an over is a feat that has been achieved in annals of cricket only a handful of times. The first one to do it in First-Class cricket was Sir Garfield Sobers, who smoked Malcolm Nash for six sixes in an over during a County match between Glamorgan and Nottinghamshire in Swansea in 1968.

The second one to do it was India’s own Ravi Shastri, who playing for Mumbai, smoked Baroda’s Tilak Raj for six sixes in an over in 1984-85 during a Ranji Trophy encounter. Then came the very first instance of the feat being achieved in international cricket, which came in 2007 ICC World Cup when South Africa opener Herschelle Gibbs hit the Netherlands Dan van Bunge for six sixes during a group stage match in the tournament hosted in the Caribbean.

The latest instance of a batsman hitting six sixes in an over, came the New Zealand domestic T20 league, the Super Smash when Leo Carter of Canterbury Kings hit Anton Devcich of Northern Knights for six sixes as his side did the impossible and chased down a target of 221 runs in the T20 match. Carter had walked into bat in 11th over and ended up with 70 in only 29 balls hitting the winning boundary in the 19th over to take his team home.

Yuvraj Singh welcomes Leo Carter into the club in a hilarious way

This led to India’s Yuvraj Singh, who was the first batsman to achieve this feat in the T20 format, to welcome Carter into the club of batsmen hitting six sixes in an over, in his own style. Yuvraj posted a photo of Tom and Jerry cartoon and also had a special request, where he asked Carter to sign his jersey and give it to Devcich.” Welcome, Leo Carter to the six sixes club! That was some epic hitting, now please sign your jersey and give it to Devcich as a mark of respect ✊,” Yuvraj posted.

Yuvraj Singh had hit Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over during India-England clash in the 2007 ICC World T20. Singh smashed the England bowler for six maximums after a spat with Andrew Flintoff enraged him and he let out the steam on Broad. In the process, he smashed the fastest T20I fifty in just 12 balls.
