With no sporting activities in the frame, many international players are interacting through Instagram live to enthral their fans by describing some dressing room instances and on-field moments. Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah followed the trend and interacted on an Instagram live session to provide their fans with some entertainment amid the coronavirus lockdown.

During the session, Tamim lauded Mahmudullah’s abilities and opined that he has not been recognized by franchises in one of the biggest leagues in the world– Indian Premier League (IPL). Tamim heaped praise on Mahmudullah and said that he has emerged as one of the best hitting batsmen for Bangladesh in the last three-four years.

Mahmudullah, who had a base price of INR 75 lakh attached to him, went unsold in the IPL 2020 Auction. In fact, the only Bangladesh players who has been a consistent part of the IPL is Shakib Al Hasan. The all-rounder has been a regular performer in the IPL with his all-round abilities.

Mahmudullah also reacted to him being unsold in the IPL auction and said that it would’ve been great if he had got the opportunity to play in the league. He opined that the IPL is a big stage and is probably the best franchise tournament in the whole world.

“Obviously, because IPL is a big stage and everybody looks after it and everybody wants to play there. Because the tournament is so fantastic and I think probably the best franchise tournament in the world,” Mahmudullah responded to Tamim’s question.

‘There’s nothing to be disappointed’: Mahmudullah

Mahmudullah also added that if he gets the opportunity to flaunt his talent in the league in the future, it would feel great to him. However, he is not disappointed at the moment and it’s not the end of the world for him. According to Mahmudullah, all one has to do is to play the way he wants.

“If I had a chance to play there it would have been obviously great for me. Because we all want to play and perform at the highest level. InshaAllah if I get an opportunity to play there then it would feel great to me. There’s nothing to be disappointed all we have to do play the way we want,” he added.

Mahmudullah has donned the Bangladesh jersey in 188 ODIs and 87 T20Is where he has amassed 4070 and 1475 runs respectively. With the ball, the 34-year-old has 76 ODI scalps and 31 T20I scalps to his name. Considering his all-round abilities, the all-rounder might have been a decent addition in the squad of many IPL franchises.
