India is a country dominated by cricket because of its stronghold in the game. But in West Bengal’s capital Kolkata, football gives a tough competition to cricket. The football-crazy people of Kolkata have seen many football greats visiting their city over the years. Brazilian legend Pele and Argentine magician Diego Maradona have glittered the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) with their amazing skills.
Former goalkeeper Rene Higuita left the thousands of supporters spellbound when he produced a magnificent scorpion kick in VYBK. Not only former legends but current stars like Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria have also played in Kolkata. The king of Argentine football, Diego Maradona will again come to Kolkata later this year to play a one-hour friendly match against Prince of Kolkata’s team.
Maradona has already started his countdown and is very much excited to meet Sourav Ganguly. He expressed his excitement on social media website Facebook, where he wrote, “Just 100 days to go for my Kolkata visit and meet ‘Prince of Kolkata, Dada.” Colombian football legend Carlos Valderrama is also expected to join Maradona.

Maradona will gift ‘autographed boots’ to Ganguly
Reports suggest that the former Indian skipper will play the match wearing a special pair of boots, which will be autographed by the Argentine legend himself.
