MS Dhoni is one of the best, if not the best captain in the world. He is the only one to have won all the three ICC trophies and when it comes to the Indian Premier League (IPL) Dhoni is the undisputed leader. He has led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in all the seasons the franchise has played. However, when the CSK was suspended for two years, he played for the now defunct Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS), the franchise co-owned by Harsh Goenka.

When the CSK and the Rajasthan Royals were suspended for two years in 2016 and 2017 and that is when RPS and the Gujarat Lions played in the IPL. Dhoni’s services were secured by the RPS but the team couldn’t do well in its debut year with the team not making it to the playoffs.

And this led to RPS changing their captain. MS Dhoni was replaced from the helm while Steve Smith took the reins of the team ahead of the 2017 IPL edition. This caused a huge ruckus among the fans as many lashed out at the franchise for removing from Dhoni as the captain.

RPS made it to the final of IPL 2017 but fans are still disappointed

Rather the team did extremely well under Smith and also made it to the final. Moreover, the team lost the final by just 1 run to the Mumbai Indians. But the fans are still disappointed with the owner of the franchise it seems. On Tuesday, Harsh Goenka suggested his followers to support the local businesses when the normalcy resumes post the Coronavirus pandemic.

“When Covid19 danger is over, let’s spend our holidays in India, eat in local restaurants, buy local veggies, buy Indian brands of clothes and support local businesses. They will need our help to survive. Let’s do our bit in helping each other stand and grow again. God bless,” he tweeted. However, a fan, out of nowhere, commented on the tweet suggesting him to make MS Dhoni the captain if he buys Pune IPL team next time.

Next time you buy pune IPL team, always have @msdhoni as captain and not Steve Smith,” the fan tweeted which clearly proves that MS Dhoni’s followers have still not forgotten his captaincy snub in 2017. Harsh Goenka wasn’t pleased at all with it and suggested the fan to mind his own business.
