‘Ex Royal paying tribute to the first Royal’ – Twitter reacts to Ravindra Jadeja’s brilliant ton against Sri Lanka

Ravindra Jadeja scored a resplendent century on Day 2 of the 1st Test match against the Sri Lankan side. The left-hander was positive in his approach and is batting on 102 off 166 deliveries and has put the pressure right back on the opposition. After his ton, Jadeja unfurled his trademark sword celebration.

Jadeja struck 10 fours in his innings and was involved in a superb 130-run stand with Ravichandran Ashwin, who scored a classy 61 off 82 deliveries. The Indian scorecard currently reads 468/7.

Apart from Jadeja, Rishabh Pant scored a mercurial 96 off just 97 deliveries and flayed the Sri Lankan bowlers to all parts of the ground. Indian batting icon Virat Kohli also scored a vital 45 in his 100th appearance in the whites for the Indian side, while right-handed batter Hanuma Vihari also chipped in with a handy 128-ball 58 with the willow in hand.

And, the fans showered their praises on Ravindra Jadeja for his rollicking century against the Sri Lankan side. While one fan stated that Jadeja, a former Rajasthan Royals player has paid tribute to the first Royal, Shane Warne, another stated that both Ravi Ashwin and Jadeja were the invincible duo of Indian cricket in Indian conditions.

Yet another fan said that Jadeja has always been an underrated cricketer. Another fan stated that the left-hander is a match-winner and a silent superstar for the Indian side.   Yet another fan stated that he is devastated that his Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Shane Warne is not there when Jadeja has lived up to his name of Rockstar.
