Excited and happy to play under MS Dhoni, remarks the new CSK recruit

The Chennai Super Kings are all set to make a comeback to the IPL roster this year. At the IPL 2018 auctions, they roped in quite a few new players. Most of the players have expressed their excitement over playing under MS Dhoni. And now, another veteran cricketer, Karn Sharma, has noted the same. Karn is expected to be a big part of the CSK setup this year.

It will be interesting to see which frontline spinner CSK goes forward with in their starting eleven – Karn Sharma or Harbhajan Singh. Recently, Karn remarked that he is thankful to the CSK camp for giving him an opportunity to play under MS Dhoni. He hopes to learn a lot from the former Indian captain. Karn was a key member in the Mumbai Indians campaign last year.

“I’m very excited and happy that Chennai Super Kings have given me the opportunity to play under Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni). He’s a great captain and knows how to extract the best from his players. I hope to learn a lot under him,” Karn Sharma was quoted as saying by the CSK official website.

“I’m looking forward to playing for the champion franchise. CSK have a lot of great players in their line-up. I see this as a great opportunity to learn from them and become a better player,” he added further.

Speaking further on the same note, he admitted that he has a lot of experience playing in the IPL. Also, he remarked that he has developed a lot of variations over the years and is looking forward to an improved outing this year in the premier T20 competition.

“I’ve been playing in the IPL for long now and have learnt a lot of variations and how to bowl in different situations and to different batsmen. I’ve become a better bowler with that,” noted the veteran Indian leggie.

High hopes on Karn Sharma

Meanwhile, CSK’s CEO KS Viswanathan has remarked that the franchise has high hopes from the experienced leg spinner. He noted that Karn has an advantage over the other spinners considering the fact that he is a wrist spinner. Moreover, he is a seasoned campaigner, which will certainly be a big plus for the side.

“Karn is an experienced campaigner in the IPL, has been consistent over the years and turned in match-winning performances in big games. Being a wrist spinner, he is a big asset to the side,” the CEO of CSK quoted.
