Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya who is prepping up for the third Test match against England that starts later today in Nottingham shared a social message on his social media handles. The South Indian state of Kerala is experiencing its worst flood in decades. Thousands have been affected by it and hundreds have already lost their lives. Hardik urged all his fans to do as little as they can and support those in need.
Pandya asked them to donate funds to the Kerala Chief Minister’s relief fund. He has done his bit and if everyone else contributes it will make a difference to those who are without food and even the most basic of amenities. However, a certain segment of his fans didn’t quite appreciate it. People who are still stuck with what’s happening on the field criticized him for the team’s poor performance in England and rather recommended that he focus on the task in hand.
Hardik’s request:
Pandya in his video message said: “Hey guys as you all know what’s happening in Kerala right now. They need our help, they’re suffering there because there is no food, no shelter, no basic necessities.
I request all of you, I am doing my bit, you do your bit, help however you can. I request everyone to donate to the CM’s relief fund, let’s pray for their wellbeing and that everything gets better.”
God’s own Country needs our help 🙏
I request everyone to do their bit to help our brothers and sisters in #Kerala – https://t.co/UzevVKSfvi pic.twitter.com/ZPi85imBG1

The Indian team is in a desperate spot right now as far as the series is concerned. They lost the first Test at Edgbaston by 31 runs and things got worse at Lord’s. Amidst rain and testing playing conditions Virat Kohli’s team was bowled out twice and were still short of England’s first total by 159 runs.
Heading into the Trent Bridge Test 2-0 down, a win is the only way (as settling for a draw is pretty unlikely) they can keep the series alive. Team India will be bolstered by the return of pacer Jasprit Bumrah and will be interesting to see what are the changes they make in the line-up.
Here are some of the reactions on Hardik’s post:
#TeamIndia is also in serious condition and unfortunately our contribution won't work there. We can take care of #KeralaFloods but you do for what you've assigned. We love and respect you guys but not for hurting our emotions. Please outperform opponent and you've caliber to do.
