Sachin Tendulkar is arguably the best cricketer to have played in his generation. He is the reason why many people started following the game of cricket. Tendulkar was not merely a name but an emotion for many. A lot of fans followed the game only till the time they saw Sachin at the crease. Stories of television sets going off as soon as Sachin Tendulkar used to get out is not an uncommon anecdote to hear.
The batting maestro turned 44 on April 24 this year. Sachin chose to celebrate the occasion with his close ones at his residence in Mumbai. Tendulkar had a little celebration at home before he headed on to the Wankhede Stadium. Sachin Tendulkar is the mentor of the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. He has been associated with the franchise since the first edition of the tournament.
Cricket statistician Rajesh Khilare posted pictures of Sachin Tendulkar celebrating his birthday at his residence in Mumbai. He shared the pictures on micro blogging site Twitter.

On his birthday, he made sure he was with the team who were playing the Rising Pune Supergiant in Mumbai. During the game, commentator Matthew Hayden had a conversation with him on the boundary lines. Hayden had a cake for Sachin and that is how he celebrated his birthday in the dugout as well.

While the players and his family celebrated the occasion, the fans were not far behind either. Nitin Jain, a fan of Sachin from Ambala (India), had his cake ready for the occasion as well. He whipped up a cake for his idol. The cake was in the shape of a cricket ground and a miniature Sachin was celebrating his century.

Harshit Mehta, another diehard fan of the batting legend, posted pictures with his friends holding big banners of Sachin. He wrote, “Sach is life…forever”. He thanked Sachin for all the memories that he gave during his playing career.
Abhishek Satam, a young fan of Sachin from Mumbai made a big Rangoli (colored powder design). He made a 44 feet by 24 feet rangoli to celebrate the 44th birthday of the former cricketer.
