Northern Warriors will take on Morrisville Samp Army in the second game of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2023 on Tuesday (November 28) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The Warriors could win only two out of seven games last season and finished in sixth place in the points table. Samp Army had won five out of seven games and were second in the points tally. They lost the first qualifier game against the New York Strikers and the second qualifier against the Deccan Gladiators. They went on to face Team Abu Dhabi in the 3rd Place Play Off and won that game by 79 runs.

The Warriors have made significant changes to their squad and have retained only three players from last season. Sri Lankan all-rounder Angelo Matthews has been named the skipper of the team. Hazratullah Zazai and Colin Munro have been brought in to make the top order strong. James Neesham and Wanindu Hasaranga are the two all-rounders in the team. Tabraiz Shamsi will lead the spin bowling attack of the team.

The Samp Army have retained as many as eight players in the squad from last season, including the skipper Moeen Ali. They made some interesting moves during the draft. Former Proteas captain Faf du Plessis has been brought in. Dewald Brevis, the young South African batter, is also a part of the team. Maheesh Theekshana and Peter Hatzoglou are the two spinners in the team. They also have experienced all-rounders like Jason Holder and Karim Janat.
