Oval Invincibles Women had squared off against Birmingham Phoenix Women in their last encounter where the toss was won by the Phoenix and they elected to field. Being put to bat, Welsh Fire did a job and started off really well. However, due to the sloppy performances from their middle order, they lost wickets and did not score much, and ended up scoring 137 runs. Phoenix started brilliantly with their chase and were going ahead with the required run rate. The match although turned on its head in the last over where Phoenix lost back-to-back wickets and lost the match by three runs.
London Spirit Women had played against Trent Rockets Women in their last match where the toss was won by the Rockets and they elected to field. Spirit had a decent start and the opening stand was followed by other decent partnerships. Although none of the players could convert their scores into a bigger total, since several of them contributed the team could reach a total of 124. Rocket’s chase was single-handedly led by their captain Natalie Sciver who played a fantastic knock of 81 and remained unbeaten till the end. Trent Rockets Women won the match by five wickets.
