Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates will play the sixth game of the T20 World Cup 2022 on Tuesday (October 18) at the Simonds Stadium in Geelong. Sri Lanka lost their first game against Namibia by 55 runs. Namibia scored 163 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs and restricted Sri Lanka to just 108 runs in 19 overs. The Sri Lankan batters, who had a great run in the Asia Cup 2022, failed to carry the same momentum in the tournament. The bowlers also had an off day as none of the batters apart from Pramod Madushan picked more than one wicket.
The United Arab Emirates lost a low-scoring thriller against the Netherlands. UAE scored 111 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Netherlands chased this target but it took them 19.5 overs to complete the job with three wickets in hand. This will only be the second T20I game between the two teams. Their first and only game against each other came during the Asia Cup 2016 which Sri Lanka won by a mere margin of 14 runs after posting a total of 129 runs on the board.
