West Indies (WI) will take on England (ENG) in the third T20I of the ongoing five-match series on Saturday (December 16) at the National Cricket Stadium in Grenada. West Indies have won the first two matches of the series and will look to attain an unassailable lead here.
In the second T20I, England won the toss and elected to bowl. West Indies didn’t have a great start and lost the first four wickets for just 54 runs. Brandon King and Rovman Powell added 80 runs for the fifth wicket and helped the team come out of trouble. King remained unbeaten with 82 runs off 52 deliveries. West Indies posted a total of 176 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Adil Rashid and Tymal Mills took two wickets each. Chris Woakes, Sam Curran, and Rehan Ahmed picked one wicket each.
England lost the first wicket for just nine runs in the form of Jos Buttler, who made just five runs off seven deliveries. The next set of batters did well, and England crossed the 100-run mark in the 14th over. However, no batter managed to convert the starts that they got. Sam Curran was promoted in the batting order and batted in the fourth position for the first time in his T20I career. He made 50 runs off 32 deliveries. England could make only 166 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 10 runs.
