A renowned celebrity on Twitter post-retirement from International cricket, pace spearhead for Australia for a number of years, Mitchell Johnson has had a complex relationship with the Indian captain over the years. The flash point between the two came during the Melbourne Test when Mitchell Johnson, in order to intimidate VK, threw the ball at the stumps on his follow through, which only managed to hit Virat.

After avoiding a serious injury, in between the change of overs, Kohli sledged back saying, “Next time try to hit the stumps.” Mitch went ahead and claimed that he doesn’t respect Kohli, terming him as a spoilt brat. The captain during the press conference then lashed out at the southpaw claiming he is not here to earn respect but to win matches.

Also during the recent edition of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Johnson took a dig at Kohli by saying that he is ‘frustrated’ for not able to score during the series. The two apparently have no love lost for each other and it not a matter of great surprise that there was largely no birthday message from Downunder for Kohli.
