After decimating the Caribbean side in the previous series, India will now eye to sweep Zimbabwe in a three-match ODI series. With the ODI World Cup coming in 2023, India is looking to build a perfect squad to avoid the last-minute commotion. With a set belief, a young team is all set to give their all to solidify their place in the Indian set-up.

Zimbabwe, on the other hand, were very impressive against Bangladesh. They won both the T20 and ODI series and if they are able to repeat the same against India, that indeed will be huge in their cricketing history. However, with so much experience under their belt, India will start favourites to get the job done. On that note, here are five Indians to watch out for in the series:

1. KL Rahul

In the absence of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul is all set to lead the team. He has not played any cricket after the Indian Premier League and thus the entire focus will be on him, especially with the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup forthcoming.

It will also be interesting to see where the 30-year-old bats. With Shikhar Dhawan doing a good job as an opener, Rahul might return in the middle order once the other players return. Rohit Sharma and Dhawan can be India’s openers in the ODI World Cup, which is why Rahul’s position is not confirmed.

With Shubman Gill playing well against the West Indies, he can be given the role of an opener. However, it remains to be seen if KL Rahul will sacrifice his spot or not. Being the captain, Rahul has the luxury of taking the call.
