The year 2018 was going to be special for the Indian captain Virat Kohli not only as the leader of the national side but also only in his personal life. After tying the knot with the Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma in December last year, it was going to be a challenge for both the high-profile celebrities to manage their personal and professional lives. While they managed to do it easily the love between one of the most sought couples only increased during the last 12 months.
The couple is set to celebrate their first marriage anniversary in Australia next week on December 11 after the first Test which will be played in Adelaide. Meanwhile, Twitter India has some delighting news for Virat and Anushka as the former’s tweet for his adorable wife during the ‘Karwa Chauth’ festival has been awarded as one of the only two Golden tweets of 2018. For the second consecutive year, Kohli has won this award as last year his wedding announcement tweet was trending for a long time.
Virat’s special tweet
The festival was celebrated on October 27 this year in India and even the cricketers, after playing the third ODI against the Windies spent time with their respective wives. Virat Kohli, after celebrating the Karwa Chauth while in Pune, posted an adorable picture with Anushka and captioned it as, My life. My universe. Karvachauth @AnushkaSharma.”
The tweet left their fans in a frenzy as it was trending for the next few days. One of the most celebrated couples in India must be delighted with this news as Virat’s tweet for Anushka literally gave couple goals to many.

Virat Kohli is connected with the other golden tweet of the year as well. The skipper of the India Football team Sunil Chettri pleaded for the supporters to come to the Stadium in order to watch the national team play during the Intercontinental Cup 2018.
Soon after his plea, the Indian cricket captain also requested the fans to treat all the sports equally. The effect of the Chettri’s was so much that it has become the most ‘retweeted tweet’ of this year and it is needless to say that the stadiums were filled to the capacity since then for the tournament which India sensationally won.
This is nothing but a small plea from me to you. Take out a little time and give me a listen. pic.twitter.com/fcOA3qPH8i
