Former Indian spinner Bishan Singh Bedi is well known for his straight forward views on the game of cricket and all that happens around it. One of India’s finest spinner, Singh has scalped 266 wickets from 67 Test matches at an average of 28.71 and an economy of 2.14. He played 10 ODIs and picked up seven wickets at an outstanding economy of 3.45.
Singh recently shared a light moment with none other than the prime minister of India, after he posted a tweet hinting at Narendra Modi‘s popular radio show ‘Mann ki Baat’. It is a quote which reads, “One should have a partner in life or else you have to settle for ‘Man ki Baat’ on radio’.” Interestingly, the Prime Minister of India, on Sundays, comes out with his radio program called ‘Mann ki Baat’. It seems the quote is aptly giving a message to him.
Will the PM reply?
It will be interesting to see if the former cricketer receives a reply from the honourable PM, as Modi often replies back with witty tweets and posts. The former slow left-arm-orthodox bowler is often in the news for his interesting takes on issues, and it was earlier reported that actor/director Farhan Akhtar and Bedi’s son Angad Bedi are in talks on making a biopic on the legendary cricketer.
Biopic on the legendary spinner
Angad told the media, “My Father is a different personality, he would call a spade a spade forthright with a view. He is larger than life personality. So, getting everything together is going to take time but definitely, it will be done because he is one person who was former cricket captain, but in today’s time, his point of view is so relevant. People need to know his story. I want to give back to the society and to the budding cricketers. They should know how past cricketers practiced, their personality on the field and such things”.
