Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar blessed with a baby boy

Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has become a father. The 43-year-old broke the news himself and this is their second child after his first son was born in 2016. Akhtar got married to Rubab Khan, who hails from Haripur village in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. It was rumoured that she was 17-years-old at the time of marriage, but he had at that time dispelled those as false news.

Their marital life has been blissful and Akhtar thanked Allah for blessing him with another son and informed his fans that both the child and the mother are doing well. The former cricketer has been in news off late for his aggressive reviews of the ongoing matches in the World Cup in which he has been seen criticizing the Pakistani team and also the Indian team at one point or other.

Overwhelmed with the feeling of becoming a father, says Shoaib

Shoaib Akhtar announced to his fans that he had become a father for the second time in his YouTube channel on July 4. His channel has seen tremendous growth in recent time, since the start of the ICC event and he even beat the likes of Pewdiepie to gain the maximum number of followers in a given period of time.

“I am overwhelmed by the feeling of being a father for the second time.  I am thankful for Allah for blessing me with the second son and I cannot tell you the feeling as it is something out of the world that I cannot explain,” Akhtar said in the video. He asked his fans to pray for his son and the mother. He also asked his fans to reply to him with suggestions for names.

His first son for born on November 7, 2016, and he was named Mohammad Mikaeel Ali. Known as the Rawalpindi Express, Akhtar holds the record for bowling the fastest measured delivery in international cricket, at the speed of 161.3 kmph. He played with distinction for Pakistan, in a career that was plagued with injuries and controversies thanks to his action and behaviour on the field.

He has 178 wickets in 46 Tests and 247 wickets in 163 ODI matches in a career spanning from 1997-2011 and remains one of the most popular and most followed cricketers in the world even now thanks to his tweets and videos on social media.
