France’s batter Gustav McKeon continues to create and break records after hitting a hundred against Norway on Wednesday. Four days ago, he scored 76 runs against the Czech Republic on his debut and a century against Switzerland in the next match. He became the youngest player to smash a century in T20I cricket.

The 18-year-old all-rounder created another big world record after scoring a hundred against Norway. He is now the first player to score back-to-back centuries in the shortest format of the game. He scored 101 runs off just 53 balls as France put 158 runs on the scoreboard while batting first. Then McKeon took three wickets while conceding just 27 runs to guide his team to an 11-run win over Norway. The youngster has now scored 286 runs in three matches at an average of 95.33 and at a strike rate of 170.23 and scalped three wickets at an economy rate of 8.60.

McKeon also broke the record of scoring the most runs after the first three T20I innings. Portugal’s Azhar Andani scored 241 runs in his first three T20I matches last year.

France reach the second position as Gustav McKeon tops the scoring chart

After a narrow win against Norway, France now are placed in the second position in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Europe Qualifier Group B 2022. They have four points from the opening three matches and just two points behind leaders Norway, who have played a game more. France next play Estonia on Saturday who have lost both the opening matches. France have a real chance to win the regional qualifiers and qualify for the Europe Qualifiers scheduled next year.

McKeon overtook Swiss batter Faheem Nazir in the leading run-scorer charts with his latest knock. Nazeer has scored 186 runs in three innings so far and McKeon is leading with 286 runs. Considering his current form, the French teenager is likely to finish the regional qualifiers as the top run-scorer.
