Veteran Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has backed his teammate and Indian skipper Virat Kohli for getting married in Italy. Recently, Virat Kohli tied the knot to Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma in Italy. The couple received good wishes from all corners. However, a certain BJP MLA questioned Kohli’s patriotism over the entire episode. He slammed Kohli, Anushka for having married in Italy.

He was of the opinion that they should have married in India to bolster Indian tourism. The Twitterati slammed the narrow minded outlook of the politician. Now, Gautam Gambhir has also joined the discussion and rightly defended Kohli. He noted that getting married is a personal choice. Hence, choosing a destination for the same also comes as a personal choice and it should not be questioned at all.

“It is completely their personal matter and choice and nobody should comment on this. Politicians should be more careful while making such comments,” Gambhir told ‘Times Now’ channel.

Another criticism hits Virushka

Well, the matter does not end just their. After the wedding, the newly-wed couple continued their destination honeymoon in Europe. Anushka even shared a picture of their visit to the Rome. However, another politician, Rafiq Wani – a BJP leader from Anantnag, has questioned their choice of honeymoon!

Well, it totally sounds bizarre. Wani noted that the couple should have spent their honeymoon period in Jammu and Kashmir. This would have helped in developing the tourism in the state.

“We have such a huge country of 125 crores citizen, if he wanted to get married he could have got married here. There is no issue that he has got married in abroad, it is his choice but for a honeymoon the most beautiful place which is called ‘Heaven on Earth’ is Kashmir. So they should have had their honeymoon here. Then our tourism would have gotten a boost also,” quoted Wani.
