Earlier this year, Gautam Gambhir, who retired from international cricket last year, contested the elections for the maiden time. The southpaw contested for the East Delhi Constituency and tasted victory in his very first appearance. The left-hander is currently a Member of Parliament (MP) after beating Congress’ Arvinder Singh Lovely and Aam Aadmi Party’s Atishi.

He won by a massive margin of 3.91 lakh votes. The seat was earlier represented by Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Maheish Giri. Ever since, he has been busy bringing in changes to the national capital. Recently, an incident has come to the fore, where Gambhir took a heartfelt step for a lady. The woman, named Unnati Madan, requested Gambhir for some assistance.

Asking for Gambhir’s help, she took to Twitter and wrote, “@GautamGambhir Sir I need help. my father needs help. He is suffering from CLD and a body infection which is damaging his main organs. He was admitted in aiims for 48 hours, however, was released because of unavailability of bed.”

In another tweet, she wrote, His treatment has been stopped because I can’t afford private treatment. He is the only one me and my 11 yo brother have. Please help us @GautamGambhir sir. Please help us in arranging a bed for him in aiims. Overall, she dropped three tweets tagging Gambhir.
