The former India cricketer and now a politician Gautam Gambhir continues to take a dig at the opposition party Aam Aadmi Party. Ahead of the Loksabha election, several allegations were made on the cricketer who contested from East Delhi constituency for Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). AAP had alleged Gambhir of using his lookalike for the election rally to wave at the fans.

The pictures of Gautam Gambhir sitting inside the car on the front seat while his lookalike waving hands during the election rally went viral on social media. He was trolled hilariously for the same as well and with other many allegations, the matter had gone out of hands ahead of the polls. With the cricketer’s character also being questioned over another incident, many former and current Indian players had come out in Gambhir’s support too on Twitter.

Gambhir had then rubbished the allegations of using a doppelganger and had accused AAP of coming up with different tactics fearing the defeat in the election. However, as it turned out, the 37-year-old won the election handsomely defeating AAP’s Atishi.

Gambhir’s latest dig

Gautam Gambhir, in the latest tweet on his official handle, posted a picture with Anaiza, one of his daughters, and took a sly dig at AAP’s allegations of him using the clone before the elections. He indirectly referred his daughter to be his clone and wrote, “Some ppl thought I had a clone…….. proving them right.”

Here’s his tweet:

Gautam Gambhir was recently criticized by many for commentating in the India-Pakistan World Cup match for the official broadcaster. He was the one who was of the opinion that the Men in Blue should boycott the neighbors at the global event in the aftermath of the Pulwama attack. Even the BCCI had cleared that Government’s decision final will be final in this regard.

However, the match went ahead as planned with India registering their seventh consecutive win over the arch-rivals in the World Cups and are looking good to make it to semis of the tournament as well.
