'Get a life' - Aakash Chopra slams a fan who called him 'chamcha' of Virat Kohli

Former India opener Aakash Chopra gave a fitting reply to one of his followers on Twitter after the latter posted a highly derogatory tweet. The user named Shashank Tiwari accused Chopra of being partial on the social media platform before being shut down by the ex-cricketer-turned-commentator.

It all started when the user expressed his displeasure over Chopra tweeting about Virat Kohli’s stunning catch in the third ODI against Australia but not about Manish Pandey‘s catch in the second game.

Kohli took an absolute stunner on the field on Sunday to dismiss the dangerous Marnus Labuschagne. Kohli’s catch ended the 127-run stand between Labuschagne and Smith. As soon as Kohli took the catch, Chopra took to Twitter to praise him. And while it was just an usual tweet, the user pointed out that Chopra did not do the same when Pandey took a world-class catch in the previous game to dismiss David Warner.

“Hello Mr chamcha of virat Kohli why you not tweeted when pandeyji takes a superb catch in last match,” wrote the user.

Unsurprisingly, Chopra was not impressed with the tweet and he made sure to reply to it. Revealing the reason behind his failure to tweet about Pandey’s catch, Chopra stated that he was doing his commentary duties when Pandey took the catch.

“Sorry. I pledge to tweet on every great catch taken in 2020. 😐 Get a life, dude. I was on commentary when Pandey ji took that catch and called it. And Praised it. I don’t tweet while commentating,” tweeted Chopra.

India thrash Australia in the third ODI at Bengaluru

As far as the game is concerned, India thrashed Australia by seven wickets in the third ODI to seal the series 2-1. Rohit Sharma hit his first century of 2020, scoring 119 and put on a key 137-run second-wicket stand with skipper Virat Kohli, who made 89, as India chased down their target of 287 with ease in 47.3 overs.

It was a typical Rohit Sharma innings as he smashed the Australian bowlers all over the park. The right-handed batsman slammed eight fours and six sixes in his 128-ball knock. It was his eighth century against the Aussies. After Rohit’s dismissal,  Kohli kept the chase on track with Shreyas Iyer who played a fine cameo of unbeaten 44 runs. Kohli and Iyer put on 68 runs before the captain was bowled by Josh Hazlewood. Iyer and Pandey then took the team over the line in the 48th over.

Earlier in the game, Mohammed Shami’s four-wicket helped India restrict Australia to 286 for 9 after the visitors won the toss and decided to bat first. Steve Smith, who missed his century in the second ODI by just two runs, went on to complete his ton this time around as he scored 131. It was his first ton since January 2017.
