Both Montreal Tigers and Vancouver Knights began the tournament with convincing wins in their respective first game. However, those wins were followed by big defeats over the weekend. Montreal were bowled out for only 101 on Saturday against Brampton Wolves in harmless conditions for the batters. Ish Sodhi became the first bowler to claim a 5-wicket haul as he registered figures of 5/8 for Brampton.

The home side finished off the chase in only 6.4 overs and boosted their NRR. On the other hand, Vancouver Knights couldn’t withstand the aggressive intent from Winnipeg Hawks. Despite no player scored a fifty, the Knights set a target of 209 to the Hawks. Chris Lynn (74 off 34), JP Duminy (77 off 38) and Dwayne Bravo (36* off 17) targeted the boundaries from the first ball they faced and finished the chase in only 15.2 overs.

Pitch Report:

The Brampton pitch is getting better by every passing day of the tournament. Over the weekend, as many as six 180+ totals were recorded across four games including three 200+ totals on Sunday.. In another game, Montreal were rolled out for just over a hundred runs due to some poor shot selection. If the ground staff manages to put the pitch fresh for Monday, totals of 180+ can be seen during this game.
