Ravichandran Ashwin sizzles in his county stint with Surrey

Ahead of the challenging five-match Test series against England, Ravichandran Ashwin turned out for the Surrey side and sizzled with the ball in hand against Somerset. The Indian spin bowling legend scalped a six-wicket haul in the second innings, as the Somerset batsmen did not have any answers to the guile of Ashwin.

Ravichandran Ashwin was last seen in an Indian jersey during the summit clash of the World Test Championship (WTC) against New Zealand. In both the innings put together, the Tamil Nadu-born spinner scalped 4 wickets against the New Zealand side. The Kane Williamson-led Kiwi outfit produced a scintillating performance against India in the WTC Final and won the match comfortably with 8 wickets to spare.

Ravichandran Ashwin is currently the 4th highest wicket-taker for India in Test cricket and has picked up a colossal 413 wickets for his country in the whites. Ashwin will next be seen on the field for India in what promises to be an enticing Test series against England. The five-match Test series between Virat Kohli’s men and Joe Root’s men will commence on 4th August 2021, and the first rubber will be played at Nottingham.
