One of the most exciting moments this year was to see to Pandya brothers playing for different franchises in IPL 2022 after having played for the same side since their childhood days. The Baroda lads had already locked horns against each other in the first leg. While Krunal Pandya dismissed Hardik Pandya, it was Hardik’s Gujarat Titans (GT) that ended on the winnings side.

Since then, both Gujarat and Lucknow have dominated the tournament so far and have occupied the top two positions in the IPL 2022 points table. With both teams winning eight of their 11 games each, the winner of the upcoming fixture at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Tuesday is likely to seal a spot in the playoffs.

Prior to the crucial encounter, Krunal had posted a photo on Twitter of his brother’s son Agastya. It looked like the LSG all-rounder had gifted a Lucknow Super Giants T-shirt to the child. Agasthya’s name was also printed on the back of the jersey and Krunal captioned the post as, “Got my lucky charm on my side for tomorrow’s game.”

Gujarat and Lucknow lock horns for a place in the playoffs

Hardik and Krunal have a lot of brother traditions before going to a match and in fact, during their first encounter, the duo had wished each other through the phone while coming to the ground. It will be one of the most fascinating battles to see the Baroda brothers going against each other as both can win games on their own.

So far, Hardik has been the man in form for the Gujarat Titans with 333 runs in 10 games and is leading his side from the front with some match-winning knocks. Krunal meanwhile, has taken nine wickets in the tournament already and has chipped in with some telling contributions with the bat in the middle order. It will be interesting to see who ends up on the top on Thursday as the winning team will strengthen their lead at the top of the points table.
