The Great Khali reveals his favourite cricketer

The Indian professional wrestler Dalip Singh Rana, better known by his ring name the Great Khali, has revealed his favourite cricketer. He is best known for his time in World Wrestling Entertainment. (WWE). Khali spent most of his career as a singles wrestler and won the Heavy Weight Championship title in 2007 for the first time.

Also, before embarking on his wrestling career, he was an officer for the Punjab state police. Khali has a special liking to cricket and though he doesn’t manage to watch all of India’s matches, he follows the sport a lot and has a close eye on how the national team is doing. He also likes to watch the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has a favourite team there as well.

His favourite IPL team

Khali, while speaking exclusively to CricTracker, revealed his favourite cricketer at the moment and it was no surprise when he named the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. He was in awe of the captain for his impeccable record-breaking batting and praised him a lot.

“Virat Kohli is my favourite cricketer. I have also met him and he also a very good human being personally. He plays amazingly well and there is no surprise why he is the favourite of every Indian,” he said.

The 45-year-old also revealed his favourite IPL team stating that since he is from Punjab he likes to back the team that shares origin. “IPL is brilliant and I love watching it. Cricket is the only league which the whole country loves and watches. My favourite IPL team is Kings XI Punjab as I belong from the same State,” he added.

Khali was all praise for former Indian captain MS Dhoni given his cool temperament on the field and how he conducts himself off the field as well. “MS Dhoni s one of the best because he is the coolest person on the planet and though I have not met him, I know he is a very well-behaved person. On the field, it is the known fact that he is the master in his tactics and his batting is also wonderful,” he concluded hoping to meet Dhoni in the near future.
