Manoj Tiwary has been one of the most talented cricketers doing the rounds in India. However, he hasn’t got enough chances to display his prowess at the highest level. The Bengal batter made his debut in 2008 against Australia at the GABBA in Brisbane and has only played 12 ODIs ever since. The right-hander also has an ODI century against the West Indies way back in 2011.

Thereafter in July 2012, he got a half-century against Sri Lanka in Pallekele. To the surprise of many, Tiwary donned the national jersey in the 50-overs format only four times since then. His last appearance for the Men in Blue came in the ODI series versus Zimbabwe in July 2015. In 12 ODIs, Tiwary has 287 runs at an average of 26.09. He has played three T20Is as well, scoring 15 runs.

Manoj Tiwary frustrated

Despite not being in the selectors’ radar for the last four years, Tiwary hasn’t dropped the gun by any means. He scored runs in heaps in the Vijay Hazare and Duleep Trophy. He scored runs at an average of 100, but despite that, he couldn’t make the cut. The snub agitated him and he lashed out the selectors for ignoring him. Recently, he again opened up and asked the selectors for clarity.

Tiwary’s name didn’t feature among the 44 cricketers picked for three separate Duleep Trophy squads. He asked the selectors about the criteria for being selected in the teams. Tiwary dropped as many as four tweets to express his grief and anger. In the meantime, Harbhajan Singh, the Indian off-spinner, was sad for Tiwary and said that he has been a tad unlucky in his career.

Harbhajan himself hasn’t played international cricket for a long time and his career for India seems all, but over. Tiwary uploaded a video on Twitter where he can be seen effecting a run out without even looking at the stumps. He was inside the circle and threw the stumps down.

Tiwary captioned the video and wrote, “My no-look run out, an effort from last year I’m 33 but on-field I’m 23.” Replying to the clip, Harbhajan showed his support for him. The tweaker wrote, “You have been very unlucky my brother. even after performing you were dropped from the team.
