Harbhajan Singh gets religious lesson on celebrating Karwa Chauth

It was Karwa Chauth yesterday, the occasion when women fast for the long lives of their husbands.

India is a country of multiple religions, diverse culture, varied traditions and numerous festivals. Yesterday (October 8) was one such occasion widely followed as ‘Karwa Chauth’. On this day, married women fast the entire day and don’t even drink water till the moon is out. Only after offering water to the moon and following the rituals do they break the fast. Like all other commoners, Harbhajan Singh’s wife Geeta Basra was also on fast for her husband.

It is believed that the wife fasting on that particular day ensures the husband a longer life. Later in the night once the moon was out Harbhajan posted a picture of his wife performing the ritual of looking at the moon and then her husband through sieve. If you though it was all going perfect a few ‘Religious Experts’ on Twitter were offended by the image.

Claiming to understand Sikhism better they advised Bhajji to stay away from such acts as it was against their religion.

Harbhajan Singh originally posted-

“Happy karwa chaouth biwi ❤️❤️❤️???@Geeta_Basra now khao ????piyo moaj karo I am sure badi bukh lagi hogi”

One individual wrote- “Feeling sad to see a Punjabi is doing such a hypocrisy… Its called hypocrisy according to Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji…”

The Indian offie was clearly miffed and responded- “Kon se Granth mai likha hai yeh na karo wo na karo.Dharm ke naam par logo ko gumrah mat karo.phle acha insaan bano wohi sabse bada dharm hai”

Another guy suggested that fasting was a superstition and thus against Sikh religion. “have proper knowledge before you say anything.Fast rakhna, ya vart rakhna is prohibited in sikh religion cause it is andhvishvas,”

By now Bhajji was starting to get amused by these religious experts trying to punch upon their rules, “Lo bhai aur ek aya gyaan dene..”

This person was sure, he know more about the religion that Harbhajan. “Please be honest towards yourself n then everyone will get the answer. Don’t utter nonsense when u don’t have any knowledge Bhajji”

To which Bhajji replied saying, Jeo singh sahb.. apka medal apko pahunch jayega.. khush raho.. now sleep..so Jao rulaoge kya itne tweets kar k ? honesty medal goes to you
