Veteran Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh is all pumped up to take the field yet again. Harbhajan will be seen taking the field for Punjab in their upcoming Ranji Trophy 2017-18 fixture against Bengal. The match commences on November 17. Punjab will be hosting Bengal at the Gandhi Sports Complex, Amritsar. Harbhajan Singh has not played any competitive game since the Indian Premier League earlier this year.

This will be his first Ranji Trophy game this year and the excitement is there to be seen in Harbhajan’s attitude. The off-spinner recently posted an update on micro blogging site Twitter to reveal that he will be taking the field for Punjab in the match against Bengal. He hoped for the blessings of the almighty.

The hashtags that followed in his post spoke volumes about his excitement for the game. He called it an ‘awesome feeling’ to be back on the cricketing field. He also hinted that his mission is to be back in the Indian team and serve the national side yet again. Harbhajan has been an out of favor candidate in the Indian cricket team for over a couple of years now.

He last played for India in Test cricket back in the year 2015 when the national side had toured Sri Lanka. His most recent international appearance came in 2016 when he played in the T20I against the UAE at Dhaka in the Asia Cup. Talking about team Punjab, they are currently ranked number 2 in Group D and look set to make it to the playoffs. They have won 2 out of the 4 matches they have played this season thus far.

Here is what Harbhajan tweeted on the eve of the Ranji Trophy encounter:

“Looking forward to be on field tomorrow for @PunjabRanji vs @CabCricket at Amritsar..@BCCIdomestic waheguru Himmat Bakshi #Backonfield #thatawesomefeeling #Excited #commited #Mission,” tweeted Harbhajan Singh.
