The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has been one of the most celebrated teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise has conjured roars ever since the inaugural season and its fan following hasn’t died down by any stretch of the imagination. They played eight seasons on the trot and qualified for the playoffs on every single occasion.

Meanwhile, they won the championship in 2010 and 2011 and became the first team to win back-to-back trophies in the IPL. Moreover, they also won the Champions League T20 twice in 2010 and 2014 respectively. CSK also played the 2015 final of the IPL which they lost to the Mumbai Indians (MI). However, they had to go through some tumultuous times in the last two years.

People in the Chennai team management were found guilty of betting and other undesired scandals owing to which the team was slapped with a two-year ban. However, they stormed back in this year’s IPL under the leadership of their enigmatic skipper MS Dhoni. The franchise retained the core of the team and yet again turned out to be a force to reckon with as opponents strained to find their feet versus the Yellow Army.

Harbhajan went down the memory lane

Dhoni was a recipient of severe criticism, but he came on to his own and answered his critics appropriately. CSK faced the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium and on both occasions, they were able to decimate the team led by Kane Williamson. In both matches, Dhoni’s men had their backs pushed to the walls.

Harbhajan Singh, who played for them this season, reminisced about the days of the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Both Harbhajan and Dhoni were a part of the squad which lifted the trophy after Kapil Dev’s triumph in 1983. The off-break bowler took to Twitter and shared a couple of pictures along with Dhoni, remembering their good times.
