Harbhajan Singh takes to Twitter to laud some brilliant performances by both teams at Wankhede

There was some stupendous cricketing action at the Wankhede. With a spot at playoffs on stakes, both Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab fought off in what was a spectacular contest. However, in the end, it was the hosts who had a final laugh as they managed to clinch it by just 3 runs.

Currently playing for the Chennai Super Kings, Harbhajan Singh asserted this game as a fantastic one for the fans. The 37-year-old had been a part of the Mumbai setup for the last ten seasons. This year, he was brought by the CSK in the IPL Auction as Mumbai didn’t retain him.

Bhajji as he’s famously nicknamed lauded Kieron Pollard’s splendid hitting with the bat. The big man went on to slam a half-century from just 22 balls before getting out. His fantastic pinch-hitting was a major reason for Mumbai Indians registering a big total in yesterday’s game.

He also credited KL Rahul for another splendour knock. An innings that threatened to take away the game from Mumbai Indians. His 94 runs from just 60 balls went to vain as the Kings XI Punjab fell short of the target. He failed to find support from another batsman after Aaron Finch’s dismissal.

Harbhajan further credited Andrew Tye for his astounding figures in the first innings. The 31-year-old hailing from Australia picked up four wickets. Moreover, he also gave away just 16 runs during his four-over quota. The right arm pacer also currently holds the purple cap for most wickets this season.

In the end, the Turbanator also gave special mention to Jasprit Bumrah for a match-winning spell. His figures of 3/15 were crucial in determining the success of Mumbai Indians yesterday. He also got rid of the dangerous KL Rahul in the penultimate over.
