Hardik Pandya has been in superb form lately. The Baroda guy has been smashing it in the Indian Premier League and winning matches for his side one after the other. Hardik is one of those people who has used the IPL as a launcher to get into the Indian team and a medium pacer who can bat from India is a rare sight to catch.

Hardik Pandya is one of those players who was taken into the Indian team as soon as he was noticed. He has played seven One Day Internationals and 17 T20s for his country but he is yet to showcase his best at the highest level. Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian captain heaped praise on the 23-year-old as he termed him as the most improved player since last year.

Ganguly believes that this Mumbai Indians player can represent India in all three formats. Pandya was recently in the squad for the Test series against the mighty Australians but did not feature at all. Sourav Ganguly was talking to India Today when he said that his talent should be converted into consistency and the team management should use him wisely.

He said, “The talent is there but you need to use brains to transform that talent which Jacques Kallis did. Pandya can bowl around 140 kilometers per hour and he has a good batting technique. It’s up to him and the team management to convert that into consistency.”

His most improved remark came as a surprise as there are many players who have broken into the Indian team this season but Ganguly believes that his improvement is notable. He also said that Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli should use him intelligently as he has the talent to become one of the best all-rounders of India.

He said, “Hardik is the most improved player this year. Among all the youngsters, he has been the best. Pandya won two games on his own and emerged as the most valuable player. Pandya has improved 40 percent (as a) player from what he was in the ICC World T20 last year. If Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli are following his game, I would suggest that they play him in all three formats.”

Pandya showed his class when he won the match against Bangladesh in the World T20 last year as he defended 10 runs of the last over to win the match for India. These comments coming from one of the legends of the game will surely do a world of good to Hardik’s confidence.
